These Ham, Brie & Fig Sliders are a delightful combination of savory ham, creamy melted brie, and sweet fig jam, all layered on soft Hawaiian rolls with fresh arugula dressed in balsamic vinaigrette. Perfect for a party appetizer or a delicious snack, these sliders offer an elegant blend of flavors with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Sliders

  • 1 package of 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 jar fig jam
  • ½ lb sliced ham
  • 1 wheel of brie, sliced

Arugula Salad

  • 3 handfuls of arugula
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise, separating the top and bottom halves carefully.
  3. Apply Fig Jam: Spread a thin, even layer of fig jam on the inside of both the top and bottom halves of the rolls. Use as much as desired, but it is typically less than the whole jar.
  4. Layer Ham: On the bottom halves of the rolls, layer the sliced ham evenly to cover the surface.
  5. Add Brie: Place sliced brie on top of the ham, filling the area but not necessarily using the entire wheel.
  6. Bake Sliders: Place both halves (bottom with ham and brie, and top with fig jam) on a cookie sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the brie is melted and bubbly.
  7. Prepare Arugula Salad: While the sliders bake, mix the arugula with the balsamic vinaigrette in a bowl, tossing to coat the leaves evenly.
  8. Assemble Sliders: Remove the sliders from the oven, and on the brie side of the bottom half, layer the dressed arugula. Then place the top halves of the rolls back on to close the sliders.
  9. Serve: Slice the slider sandwich into individual pieces and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute fig jam with another fruit preserve like apricot or raspberry if desired.
  • Make sure to slice the brie thinly to allow it to melt evenly.
  • Use fresh arugula for the best peppery flavor and texture.
  • These sliders are best served warm right after baking for optimal gooeyness of the brie.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute ham with grilled vegetables or a plant-based deli slice.
