Ingredients

Slider Assembly

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 20 oz bag chicken tenders (cooked according to package directions)
  • 1½ cups marinara sauce
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese slices

Butter Topping

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Optional Garnish

  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the chicken tenders: Prepare the chicken tenders according to the package instructions until fully cooked. Once done, set them aside to cool slightly.
  2. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  3. Prepare the rolls: Using a serrated knife, slice the Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally in half, keeping the sections attached. Place the bottom halves on a parchment-lined baking sheet or a lightly greased baking dish.
  4. Layer marinara sauce: Spread a thin, even layer of marinara sauce over the bottom half of the rolls to add moisture and flavor.
  5. Add chicken tenders: Arrange the cooked chicken tenders evenly over the marinara-covered rolls, fully covering the surface.
  6. Top with marinara and cheese: Spoon the remaining marinara sauce over the chicken tenders, then layer slices of mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Place the top rolls: Carefully place the top halves of the Hawaiian rolls over the cheese layer.
  8. Prepare the butter topping: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
  9. Brush the tops: Generously brush the butter mixture evenly over the top of the rolls to ensure a flavorful golden crust.
  10. Bake the sliders: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is hot and melted.
  11. Serve warm: Remove from the oven, optionally garnish with chopped parsley, and serve the sliders warm, with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use pre-cooked or homemade chicken tenders for convenience or extra flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce before spreading.
  • Feel free to substitute mozzarella with provolone or a blend of Italian cheeses for variation.
  • Keep the sliders covered with foil if you want to prepare ahead and bake later, then remove foil for the last 5 minutes of baking to brown the tops.
  • These sliders are great for parties, game days, or family dinners and can be easily doubled or halved depending on your needs.
