A delicious and easy-to-make dessert featuring tender cinnamon-spiced apples layered with creamy vanilla Greek yogurt and rich caramel sauce, finished with a crunchy topping of granola or nuts. Perfect as a sweet treat or a satisfying breakfast parfait.

Ingredients

Apple Compote

  • 3 cups peeled, diced apples
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Parfait Layers

  • 2 cups vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • Granola or chopped nuts (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Apples: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the peeled, diced apples along with the brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes until the apples are tender and caramelized. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  2. Assemble the Parfaits: In serving glasses or bowls, layer a spoonful of vanilla Greek yogurt, followed by a layer of the cooked apples, then a drizzle of caramel sauce. Repeat these layers until the glasses are filled to your liking.
  3. Add Toppings and Serve: Top each parfait with granola or chopped nuts if desired to add a crunchy texture. Serve immediately or refrigerate to serve chilled later.

Notes

  • You can substitute the caramel sauce with homemade caramel or a healthier syrup if preferred.
  • For a vegan version, replace the Greek yogurt with plant-based yogurt and use a dairy-free caramel sauce.
  • If you like your apples softer, cook them a few minutes longer.
  • Granola adds texture, but nuts provide a richer crunch and extra protein.
  • Chilling the parfaits for an hour before serving enhances the flavors.
